You have connected up your new RemoteLink or 75 Series amplifier to the SKY RF2 outlet and you get something like this…?
Don’t worry, it is most likely to be simply that the RF outlet on the SKY box is still set to CH68 and the new amplifiers only tune to CH60 to cut out the 4G network (LTE).
Now let’s not get too technical here but we have probably all heard of 4G and more recently 5G and these new data networks are using frequencies previously used by TV signals (this includes a SKY HD box RF2 outlet). The new amplifiers now only tune to CH60 to cut off the 4G and the SKY RF outlet is set to CH68 by default unless someone has changed it. This means the amplifier cannot pass the RF2 outlet from a SKY box
The fix is simple enough…
Click here to read the instructions on how to access the hidden menu where the outlet can be changed. Make sure you click the green dot to save and also you will need to retune your TV sets.
Make sure if you are using local terrestrial services that your new outlet channel does not conflict with a local channel bundle. You will need to know which transmitter you are on and the list of channels used can be found in the back of our product and user guide which can be found here. It can also be possible to check the manual tuning menu on some TV sets to see which channels have already been tuned into. Just avoid those!
Now if you want to really get ahead of the game you can set your RF channel to below CH48 as the new 5G data network which is being rolled out now will occupy CH49-60…!
