The Clear Flow Controller is the central management unit of a Clear Flow wireless network.
Do you need one? No. Clear Flow access points can be configured independently and are very easy to program. For information on how to program an individual AP please click here.
SO what is the controller used for? In general, the controller will be used in commercial installations such as hotels, leisure centres, prisons or shopping centres for example.
The controller is capable of managing up to 200 access points and can offer additional functionality to the system such as multiple LANs, VLAN, bandwidth control and options like a captive portal, multiple providers and so on. It is a versatile device which is a must-have for larger systems.
